Systems
Engineering (SE) Process
SE is used to address the development of
all technical systems in the enterprise.
SE is a logical sequence of steps toward
deriving good requirements and transforming
them into solutions, regardless of the enterprise
type or mission.
SE is an interdisciplinary
approach that encompasses:
|
|
• The entire technical effort
from cradle to grave (development, mfg, deployment,
operations, disposal, etc.)
• defining and managing the system
configuration
• translating the system definition into
work breakdown structures
• developing information for management
decision making
SE integrates all elements including people, hardware,
software, facilities, policies, etc. SE is an
orderly and disciplined approach that provides
for the full understanding the “problem”,
modeling the system, and investigating alternatives,
all before developing a solution.
